Aleksandar Leshev was selected for the internship program at Georgiev, Todorov and Co. Law Offices in 2019, and officially became a part of the team of the law firm as a legal advisor in 2020.
He graduated from the Law Faculty of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in 2019. In 2016 he took part of the Erasmus exchange program at Södertörn University in Stockholm, Sweden, where he studied Comparative European Politics, and constitutional law. He speaks English fluently and has studied French.
While being a student, Aleksandar has participated in a number of international and national law competitions. He has significant success in European Union law competitions: Central and East European Moot Court Competition 2017 (CEEMC) – 1st place, European Moot Court Competition 2018 (EMCC) – semifinalist, European Law Moot Court 2018-2019 (ELMC) – semifinalist of Florence Regional final, and in 2019 he was part of the first Bulgarian team to participate in the oral rounds of PAX Moot – International Private Law Competition held in The Hague, The Netherlands. He subsequently became one of the coaches of the teams of Sofia University for CEEMC (2020) and ELMC (2019/2020).
At a national level, Aleksandar is the recipient of many awards and academic honors, including first place and “Best Speaker” Award at the National Civil and Commercial Law Competition “Christian Takov” 2019, “Student of the Year” for 2018/2019 at Sofia University, “Vitali Tadjer” Award, etc. He also took part in the European Youth Event 2016 held at the European Parliament, Strasbourg, as well as in a course for presentation skills in 2017 at the Inner Temple, London. He also has publications on national and international legal platforms.
Aleksandar’ previous experience includes internships at the Ministry of Justice at its Directorate for International Legal Cooperation and European Affairs, Sofia District Court as part of the “Fullbright” program, as well as at Ernst & Young Bulgaria, where he mainly worked in the field of indirect taxation.
His experience at “Georgiev, Todorov & Co” is primarily in the areas of commercial law, administrative law and civil procedure.
