Georgiev, Todorov & Co. law offices had the pleasure of supporting the event held on 05.12.2018. in Plovdiv, the first of its kind regional roundtable “Canada – Bulgaria: CETA – Economic partnership for more business opportunities”.
The mayor of Plovdiv Ivan Totev, Canadian Ambassador Kevin Hamilton, Deputy Mayor Stefan Stoyanov, Canadian Trade Attaché Bradwin Niblock, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency Stamen Yanev, economists and representatives of various Bulgarian industries took actively part at the roundtable.
The event aimed to explain to the Bulgarian investors the opportunities for doing business in Canada as well as to present to the foreign investors from Canada the conditions for investment in our country.
Regarding this, Tsvetelina Dimitrova, a PhD student in private international law, presented to the audience a presentation on “Investors Protection in CETA”. In her presentation she emphasized on the envisaged system for resolving investment disputes in CETA and compared it with the current arbitration system.
