Georgiev, Todorov & Co. Law Offices congratulate the intern Alexander Leshev for his award for a “student of the year” in Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski for the academic year 2018 – 2019.
The award is received in the Aula of the oldest Bulgarian university, the most representative premise of the university and a hall for solemn academic gatherings and ceremonies. The competition is held for a fourth consecutive year under the patronage of the rector of Alma mater – Professor Anastas Gerdjikov. The aim of the event is to support the development of the students and distinguish the best of them. The awards in each category are not only material, but also such as to support the future professional development of the winners.
The applications are reviewed by a jury made up of professionals, specialists and public figures, among which is Maya Manolova – ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria, Nikolay Pavlov – deputy minister of the youth and sports, associate professor Georgi Burdarov – a writer, lecturer and a winner in the competition “The manuscript”, professor Kosta Kostov – a doctor, expert and a manager of the Lung Disease clinic in the military-medical hospital, Elena Marinova – a president of “Musala soft”, etc.
More than 200 students participated in the competition this year. The participants were split into 11 categories: “Pedagogical Sciences”; “Humanities”; “Social Sciences”; “Economic Sciences”; “Law”; “Natural Sciences and Biotechnology”; “Mathematics and IT”; “Healthcare”; “Voluntary Activities”; “Foreign student” and “Sports”.
The “student of the year” Alexander Leshev received his award from the rector of the university, who said that the choice was difficult in all categories, but it was the hardest for the jury to decide which student of all nominated is the most worthy of the “student of the year” recognition.
At the awards ceremony Alexander Leshev thanked all his colleagues, lecturers and the organisers of the event. He wished good luck to all students, who are yet to appear at competitions and to have the confidence that they are being taught in an academic environment, which is not less competitive than most of the western universities.
